Crappy Pictures has sponsors. Sponsors do giveaways. The Minimalist Mom is doing a giveaway! Yay!
Rachel wrote a book, The Minimalist Mom’s Guide to Baby’s First Year - How to Save, Time, Money & Space.
You know what? Babies don’t actually come with stuff. But we all wind up with it somehow. Rachel will show you how to avoid being buried alive under baby gear that never gets used.
Don’t let this happen to you!
I sent Rachel a couple questions and she answered them and I’m just going to copy and paste some of it because she is too darn interesting.
Why did you write the Minimalist Mom’s Guide to Baby’s First Year?
“Boy did I waste a lot of money on baby stuff that I never used. It all sat in a closet, piled on top of each other, and none of it made my life easier.
This book was what I wish I had read when I was pregnant. It’s a book about slowing down when you have small children. It’s a book about how to live well with less so you can sleep more, pay off debt or find the dollars for those extra things like a cleaner when you’re infant is reverse cycling and you’ve had 11 hours sleep over four days.”
Have you always been a minimalist or was this something that developed over time?
“I was never a hoarder but I did love sales and stuff. Chances are if you complimented me on what I was wearing the first thing out my mouth was “I got if for 60% off!”
When my son was born things changed. I was at home a lot, stressed out by our stuff and finally saw that I wasn’t using everything that was stored in our closets.
In September of 2010, after a summer reading about minimalists that were living out of backpacks, I decided to massively downsize our possessions to get back more time, money and space. We also cut our living expenses in that year, selling our car, cutting bills and buying very little, so that I could stay home with our son. A huge benefit to this lifestyle change is that we paid off $82,000 in consumer debt in under two years.”
(Does anyone else have this sudden urge to declutter right now? Or is it just me? So inspiring!)
Rachel is giving away three copies of her digital e-book, Minimalist Mom’s Guide to Baby’s First Year today.
She is also giving away one Grand Prize of her book plus a Clutter Coaching Session.
Here is her description of the Clutter Coaching Session: “Tired of stuffed closets and junk drawers? Overwhelmed by piles of ancient bank statements and stressed out by your mud room? This is a chance for a fresh start.
Rachel will help you declutter three areas of your home and life. She will virtually hold your hand (and sometimes kick your butt) as you shred those statements and pare down your wardrobe.
You’ll receive tasks tailored to your specific needs that will help you banish clutter for good. Rachel will also be there for you with email support for the duration of the session and a maintenance plan to help you stay clutter free.
The session will last four weeks and can be started at any time between April and November of 2012. The value of this personalized four week clutter coaching session is $249.”
Yes please! Who doesn’t need some decluttering help? I really hope I win this one. Oh, I’m not eligible? Dang. My closets are crying now. They had hope for a moment. It always feels SO good to clear space, doesn’t it?

Julie Domme - I would love to win either prize! We’re working to afford for me to be able to be a stay at home mom with baby #2 on the way and this would help a lot! Thanks for offering the prizes!
Shira - Expecting any day now…show me the way.
Pati - I’m moving and feel incredibly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff we have. I’m piling up stuff to get rid of but still there seems to be so much STUFF! Please help me declutter and have a home where closets are roomy and my house is not always in a state of chaos! (Grand Prize)
Yay Minimalist Mom!!! <3
I could definitely use some virtual hand holding/butt kicking to tame the clutter beast.
What a wonderful idea–sounds like something I could definitely use!
wow, so true 🙂
This sounds like a necessary read!
I have been following Minimalist Mom and have paired down quite a bit but would LOVE to win this prize and finalize my space! It’s kind of addictive once you see how much more room you have, you just want to clean more, lol!
I love this blog! It is horribly easy to get buried with “things and stuff” when you have kids.
Living in a 1000 square foot home with three babies (almost 3, almost 2, and due in July), I am really looking forward to reading your book.
I’m not sure if Rachel can fly all the way to Europe for the coaching session, but the book would be great too 🙂
I’m cheap, but this service sounds underpriced. This woman should have her own action figure, except that would probably be unnecessary clutter.
lol!
I am actively working towards a minimal lifestyle and this could really help.
I’m on baby #2 in an apartment and need some tips so we can keep living where we are!
I follow and love The Minimalist Mom, and her book would be very useful to me (not a hoarder, but I find so difficult to declutter…)
I’m past my babies’ first years, but I know some moms-to-be trying to figure out what they need for their babies and the de-cluttering help would be awesome!
We will be having #2 in November and are hoping to keep it minimalist! I would love to have Rachel’s book for some good planning and advise!
Sounds interesting!!
I need to win!!! 🙂
Everyone I know needs to declutter. I always feel the urge after I’ve been to a flea market that’s piled high with useless items.
What a great idea!
My littlest is past the first year, but I have many friends expecting soon who would love the book, and I sure do need some decluttering around here!! 🙂
I just had a baby, and while I’ve pared down, I have a long way to go. I sure could use the hand-holding and a push to take it further!
My husband and I are just starting the process of registering for our first and there is SOOO much baby stuff out there. This would be a great read! 🙂
Yes!!
Would LOVE to win this! I’ve been following Rachel for a while and have made some good progress, but I’ve been stuck in a slump lately. Ready to move on! 🙂
Yes, I need this!
I really need some declutter help!!
I wish I was more of a minimalist!
I’m expecting my first baby right now and we’ve been trying to avoid purchasing unnecessary baby stuff. I’d love to check out her book!
Oh dear, I really could use some help! Great giveaway!
Yes, please! Our baby stuff is multiplying.
This book is definitely on my list of “must read”! We’re 5 weeks from Baby’s due date and already the stuff is starting to pile up…
I could use the heck out of this!
Ooooo — great giveaway! Thank you to both of you. 🙂
ooooh! This would be wonderful! We are definitely in need of a little push to get our decluttering going 🙂
Comment is done. Please enter me!
This would be great. I seem to collect baby gear and instead of making things easier, it is just more stuff for my 3 year old to rearrange into a huge pile.
Thank you!!
My goal this year, among other things, is to get rid of half the stuff I have before I buy a house for myself and my little guy. This book would definitely help me out!
I would love to read this book! It’s right up my alley being a first time mom and soooo overwhelmed with baby stuff and clutter! Organization is what I need! (and motivation!)
Sue
help me pay off debt! 🙂
Boy, I could use this!
So exciting!!!
This is a MUST in my life right now! We’re busting at the seams in our condo and need to figure out how to de-clutter and get to a more organized life for us and our 2 little boys!
Very cool!
I could REALLY use this…pregnant with #2 right now, and we have way too much stuff already, and more keeps coming in. It’s like baby stuff breeds itself and multiplies!
Um, yes please!! So need help with this.
Oh, I really need this!
Very cool!
This sounds wonderful!
Super cool! Thanks for the intro to Minimalist Mom!
Me, me! Pick me! Moving soon and I SO don’t want to move it if it’s not even being used!
I love Minimalist Mom!!! We are a military family who moves often, so that sort of forces you to attempt to be minimalist!
This would be interesting I feel like we are drowning in stuff sometimes and I don’t know where to start !
I love getting rid of clutter and unused stuff, but there are certain areas I really need a kick in the pants about.
Kindergarten teacher + mom = 1 glue stick away from becoming a hoarder 🙂
Yes please! I’ve been trying to turn my husband and I onto this way of living recently…could use the hand-holding 🙂
I bought so much stuff for baby and didn’t wind up using it or at least not very much. Would love to check out this book and the coaching would be amazing.
I need this, even if we are a bit beyond the baby stage.
Sounds like this book may have been written just for me! I dread openig closets because of what I might find in there!
I really could use this!
Yeah! I just found her website through yours the other day and started browsing through the archives.
Sounds wonderful!
I’ve been really into reading about and (trying to) implement minimalism into my life! The one area that I haven’t been able to master is my kids’ stuff. I always feel so guilty, like they NEED every last gadget and gizmo I can give them. I’m looking forward to reading the book, whether I win or not!
I just found her website through your blog the other day and practically read the entire thing! Thank you for sharing these great sponsors!
*I* NEED that!
Where was she when I had my first one??? I couldn’t believe how much stuff we ended up with that we never touched!
I remember feeling exactly like that with our first. Do babies really need all this junk? Nope, I wish I’d had this book. 🙂
I can never get rid of my kids’ stuff and it is taking over our house. Really could use some guidance with that and with getting them to be okay with doing it too.
Um… YES, PLEASE.
Cool, I have been decluttering so much stuff but I still have a long way to go.
I totally need to do this! Baby 2 due in 3 weeks, we are drowning in stuff and I’m giving up my career to stay home= no chance at moving out of the house that feels cramped with 3 in it!
I really needed this book before I had my first! So much wasted money and stuff. I did pass it all onto friends so it didn’t just go into the trash but I still flinch when I think of all that junk.
Wow! We definitely need this in our house!
Does that mean I have to get rid of my iPhone? 🙁
Sounds like a great book!
I would love this!
Sounds awesome 🙂
I could so use this!
Oh, me, me! I have 4 boys and soooo much stuff. We just had our house packed up and shipped across the ocean from Hawaii to Texas, and I’m NOT looking forward to unpacking all of it on the other end – yikes!
Is that a yoga ball in the crib I spy? LOL Yes, I really need to get rid of some stuff.
I love her website but haven’t read her book yet!
Need! and want!
Sounds like just what I need.
Ooh! Pick me!
My husband would love it if we won this. 😉
Yes!! I deffinitly could use this book!!
I so need this! Living as a family of four in a small two bedroom apartment, we have way too much stuff.
I can’t believe I haven’t heard of her before, that is a great site! I go through kicks of being minimalist and clearing our clutter but then I always fall back into stuff. I realize it is an ongoing process. Would love the help!
I could really use some help! We moved into my moms home (2 kids, 2 adults, plus mom) to help her out and could use some help!
I love that it is an ebook so there isn’t yet another book to add to my stacks. Books and clothes are the hardest things for me to downsize.
I would love some help organizing my house! Living in a small house with twins, we have tons of stuff and not enough storage!
We need this! Our family of four moved into a two bedroom and we have the stuff from our 3 bedroom house crammed in here. We need help getting it down to a livable level!
I really need this!
Me please! Pretty please! With a cherry on top!
Sounds like a great book! wish I had it before I had my first!
A great gift for mommy-to-be friends!
oh how i need this!
Yes! I so need this- I have an online shopping addiction-and so much “stuff” we just dont need!!
Pick me please!
I’d love to win this!
With 4 kids (age 10, 7, 4, and 7months) and 3 adults living in a 4 bedroom house I could really use this.
Good timing, I was just getting that spring cleaning itch.
My husband woke up today and told me he had nightmares about our clutter! Please help.
This author is preaching what I TRY to practice. Too late for the “Baby’s first year,” but I could use a clutter coaching session. I totally agree that you don’t need half the stuff “they” say you do.. in fact I got very little the second time I had a baby. I knew I could go get it when I needed it AFTER he was born, so that’s what I did.
“He likes room to wiggle. I’ll get a bouncy seat to put him in.”
“Oh now he wants to be held all the time! Time to sew a sling and check craigslist for carriers.”
Some folks swear by baby swings, but neither of my kids used one, ever. Not even sure getting a crib was worth it with kid # 1. But we’ve gotten plenty of use out of it with number 2, who likes his space and did not use the sling and carriers long at all… I’m glad I only spent about $12 total on carriers for him.
Oh I so need to declutter and minimalise our life!
decluttering definitely required here!
Oh Momma!!!! Need it doesnt even cover it!!!! Prior to my three wee ones I had the most organized and simplistic life! Fast forward eight years of marriage and babies… I had to forbid myself this summer from any yard sales or thrift stores until I can remove everything from this house we dont need. We bought this house with “3” bedrooms… I havent seen the third one since the day we moved in! And paper monsters, excessive amounts of laundry, and entirely too many toys have me secretly praying for a bulldozer! Where did it all come from??
I was luckily too disorganized to have too much stuff prior to our son’s arrival, and it has worked great. we never decorated his room or anything, either.
BUT, I could really use that decluttering session!!
Yes! I need to declutter before we move into our new house!
my husbands motto is “better safe than thrown away”, please let us win!
Yay! This is something chock full of ideas I could really use! And share with my mommy-to-be friends who are stunned at how much a new baby “needs.”
I seriously need some help decluttering my house!
I could definitely use a lot less clutter in my life right now!
Love it! My son is 16 days old, and this blog and The Minimalist Mom have kept me entertained through nighttime feedings. De-cluttering our space is something we really need!
Wow! I could really use this right now… just did some number crunching to see if we could make a BIG change (and we can’t until we get some things worked out) would love to have some hand holding (and to see my spare room again!)
Thank you so much for sharing this sponsor, added Minimalist Mom to my blog reader!
I NEED to declutter. We can barely step in the house. With three kids, there is a LOT of stuff. Please help me.
Enter me please! 🙂
Pick me pick me 🙂 please.
Would LOVE this! Really…really…really.
Sounds like a wonderfully helpful book! I’d love to have a copy!
Love love love! (there was probably a more minimalistic way to write that)
Not just you, I have an urge to get rid of stuff now too! Just this post alone was inspiring to me.
Awesome
Very nice, thank you.
It’s possible I had to wipe drool off my screen…possible…
I don’t usually comment for giveaways but seeing as I actually need this and there is more than one winner count me in!
Need this!
Oh. My. Gosh… could you imagine?! This would be amazing for the sardine can we live in!
The Toys. Have. Taken. Over. 🙂 help is necessary. I find it hard to part with things my babies ‘loved’
Please, Minimalist Mom, show me the way to the other side of my basement! Because we can’t walk in there now.
Sign me up for less clutter!
How perfect would this be for trying to sell our house!
This sounds like exactly what I need. We are looking at moving within the next year or two, and I just told my husband yesterday we need to do some major purging before the move. Starting with all those paper statements that I really don’t need anymore is first on my list!
Please pick me I am buried in a mountain of clutter I have a two ur old a six month old and one more due in august.
Someone to help me tackle clutter?? Umm, yes please!
Can Minimalist Mom also convince my husband that we need to clutter? He’s such a hoarder! 🙂
*declutter!
I love purging!
WOW how come I have never heard of you, you wonderful woman. I have the biggest problem with clutter and crap! This would be a godsend!
Old bills an bank statements, ahhhhh!
Uh, I don’t actually want to be entered in the contest — just had to say that isn’t it ironic to get a book about decluttering, or to pay a couple of hundred dollars to be told how to save money? If it needs doing, nobody else is going to do it for you.
…Having said this, I have just collected a carload of toddler stuff I probably don’t need from a friend who definitely didn’t need it, because, well, it’s free, right?! 😀
Inspirational.
I am signing up for the blog – I need this!
I could totally use to declutter. Especially since my husband is ADHD and can’t focus at all with our clutter
this sounds great! I may buy the book if I don’t happen to win it!
Love your blog. Absolutely need help decluttering here!
I always say I need to declutter…maybe if someone holds my hand it will actually happen!
Oh man, I need this!
It is amazing to me how much stuff piles up without you realizing it! it gets overwhelming and in not quuite sure where to start =/
I’m getting ready to have #2, so I am sure this book would come in handy! I have closets full of things we didn’t use the first time, so not much hope for the second time!
My son is 5 and we still have all his baby crap in the attic! Apparently this giveaway was made for us!
I can’t wait to read the book and start de-cluttering! 🙂
That sounds like a great read! Definitely need to declutter… tomorrow!
We are drowning in clutter, Save us!
Pleeeasssseeee!! I need decluttering!!! 4 kids, if you count the husband!
Sounds amazing!
Goodness. Just what I need!
Yes, please!!
Yes, the junk drawer must go.
Kinda scared by the possibility of having to go through all the crap, but I guess that means I really should!
Please, I so need organizational help.
Would LOVE to win this. I’m home w/ baby #1 and we’re planning on #2 in the near future. I’ve been desperate to declutter and dejunk our house, but need some serious butt-kicking help in that department!
I so need this. There is stuff everywhere in my house. It all seemed necessary at some point…I think…
I’m ready to declutter every nook and cranny right now!
Pick me! Pick me!
I love this idea, and want to gift the book to my brother and sister-in-law who are pregnant with #1!
Just donated an entire spare closet full of clothes! But there is so much more to do.
Please I soooo need decluttering/organizing help. Single mom to a beautiful 4 year old girly girl. I am recently separated and moved from a huge 3 bedroom house with 2 car garage with attic, storage and shed (held lots of STUFF) to a super small 2 bedroom apartment. I am completely overwhelmed and feeling like I now live in a hoarders home with boxes and bags of stuff I just can’t seem to get through it all. HELP ME PLEASE
3 people (2 adults and a baby) in a one bedroom house- I could definitely use some de-cluttering help!
I am always looking for ways to simplify my life and this sounds great!
Don’t understand how spending $249 will help me save money ,sounds like another book to clutter up my home and make someone else richer .What a croc
It is a giveaway, you don’t have to spend that money. And the book is an ebook, it won’t enter your home. Spreading hate only makes you dark and rotten inside.
they are giving away 1 to sell 1000, if you can’t see that you are blind to the truth. I love Ambers blog but fell it’s a shame she uses it to promote merchandise like this.
Why would you bother to comment if you felt this way?
Now that I am past that first year,I could certainly use the help decluttering EVERYTHING left in the wake of 3 kids.
I tooooootally need someone to kick my butt! The clutter is killing me :/
Me please!!
I’ve been thinking about how to start decluttering for the last year. I neeeeed help!
I could use the help!
Yay! Thank you both for the chance at a great giveaway. 🙂
Wow. I am a terrible packrat – I need a book like that to help get rid of needless *stuff*!
Sounds amazing!
I can’t comment, I’m drowning in clutter!
Please pick me, I would love this!
I am on the road to getting imperfectly organized and can use the moral support. I have big goals for next year and need to use my time wisely in order to achieve those goals. What a great giveaway, thanks!
So very needed in our home!
Can’t wait to read it!
Wow, that much paid off in consumer debt? For our income, even if we spent nothing it would take years to pay that off!
Wow. It’s like you read my mind….
We are drowning in stuff too. Help!
Very smart idea!!!!
I need someone to whip me and the house into decluttered shape!
I am in desperate need of this! I’m not a mom just yet, but hubby and I are trying to get pregnant and we have A TON of clutter that we don’t know where to even begin with!
You’re right, very inspiring! I hope I win!
I need this so badly!
I’m another one who is long past baby’s first year, but would love some de-cluttering assistance.
I can really use someone who is completely unattached to my stuff to help me get rid of it. I come from a long line of hoarders (meaning I’ve inherited other people’s clutter). HELP!!!
Awesome!
This sounds like something I could use and share with others. I think my husband would appreciate it too!
Wow, just wow. Humbling and inspiring! I could use the help.
I could really use a virtual clutter cleaner outer. We’re trying to make room for foster kids.
I’m way past baby’s first year as well (my “baby” is almost 3, yipes!) I could use some de-cluttering help for sure though. 3 kids, 2 adults in a 2 bedroom apartment makes things….difficult at times for sure.
Sounds like a great book!
Feeling inspired already! Wish I read some of her suggestions before getting all swept away with preparing stuff for the baby that end up being totally unused.
I would love to read this!!!!
Ohmygosh! We don’t just need this, we !NEED! this!
Love.
Yay for giveaways! Howver, I think I am totally going to get that book even if I don’t win.
Yes, please! My 1,000 square ft home is stuffed and I could really use some help.
I could definitely use Rachel’s experience and advice. I was actually planning to buy her book but procrastinated because this is going to be an additional book in our cluttered house!
I’m glad I’m not the only one with a giant exercise ball and nothing to do with it… Well I guess I could work out….. Nah.
Oh and then there’s the clutter
I am trying to be a minimalist mom, I would love some help to get my husband to start with me, it seem for every doller I save he spends 2. And for every one thing I get out of the house he brings in 5 things. Help me!
Sounds great!
Oh please, oh please, oh please. I really need this.
I can hear my closets chanting ( pick me, pick me)
I could definitely use some coaching. I’ve got a three month old, a house full of stuff, and we’re moving to an apartment in the fall. My blood pressures rises just thinking about it.
This is just what I need! I’m in that place of wanting to get rid of it if it’s not being used! I just need a bit of help and encouragement to do the work to declutter and sell/donate the stuff we don’t need and aren’t using.
I really need to learn to think like a minimalist. I want to be one, just don’t know how to get from here to there. Maybe Minimalist Mom could help!
Oh I could use this. We have so much crap I fear I could end up on hoarders one day…..
This sounds like a lifestyle change I need!
digital eBook = less clutter. YAY!
oh clutter clutter clutter!
When I was expecting my first kid, I just waited to buy stuff until after he was born. This way, we knew we needed the stuff we bought. Before he was born, all I had were diapers, a dresser, a carseat, a hand me down bassinet, more receiving blankets than I thought I would ever use, and a few t-shirts. I did use all the blankets :).
This sounds great!
I would love to have this book!
I would LOVE to read this!!!
Pick MEEEEE! I never win shit.
i could DEFINITELY use some decluttering advice! my husband always says i have too much crap!
Oh boy do i need this!
Baby #2 will be here any day now – heavens yes, I could use some help decluttering and de-stuff-ing!
Yep, totally have the urge to de-clutter just reading these few questions asked!
I need this!
Oh sweet god, this would be perfect. We have been living abroad for five years now, are expecting our first and need to pare down as we head back to the US, only knowing how, or what, seems impossible! My husband and I are both seemingly unable to throw away anything. Help would be most appreciated.
I could really use the help on decluttering!!
I’m kind of minimalist already, but I could definitely use the kick in the pants considering we live in a 1000 sq foot apartment with a toddler, infant twins, and no storage!
Brilliant! I’m expecting my second and could really use some decluttering inspiration.
Baby #3 on the way and the “stuff” is piling up. Could def use this 🙂
I need a minimalist in my life 🙂
Too much clutter! I’d love to win this and start getting rid of it! 🙂
I would love to read this!
maybe we need to declutter the comments? 🙂
As someone who “inherited” TEN boxes of random baby stuff that is now sitting in a corner of my living room (*gasp* ALL the closets are full!?!) this is perfectly timed!
I need this kind of help! I get so overwhelmed by the clutter that I end up doing nothing or just enough so the clutter doesn’t get worse…but it also doesn’t get much better either. Will Minimalist Mom come to my rescue?
I would love to read this! We’re thinking about having kids now and would love to know all her ideas!
I would love to read her book!
I’d love to win a copy!
I’ve been trying to minimalize since our move last year, and it’s not on working very well. Please help me! XD
I really need this! 🙂
I need this. Big time.
I want a copy of her book but don’t have a kindle. Wish there was a hard copy!
Yes i desperately need help de-cluttering!
Sounds like I needed this book when I was pregnant with my first baby! I still need help!
Trying to make the most of our tiny house – would love this!
I need to minimalize the Daddy (and the mom)
I would love this book! 🙂
If only I could attach a picture to illustrate how desperately I need this book. Did I mention I’m hoarding 3 couches in my two bedroom apartment ? Not something I typically brag about in daily conversation.
Help us, minimalist mom! We’re buried alive under stuff with no time to get rid of it all.
The book sound awesome! 🙂
Wow, I need this! lol
After moving from almost 4000 square feet of house and awesome garage storage, into 900 feet of tiny apartment complete with my 3 year old and 8 month old Great Dane, I definitely need this. I never win anything, but I’m going to start saving so I can get this. It sounds awesome!
I could definitely use some decluttering tips!
She’d faint if she saw my house of 7 …..females!
I want this book so bad! Getting ready to have baby #2 and would love the help.
My partner would love me to de-clutter!
i have 3 kids and would love help minimizing the amount of stuff we have. i feel like we are bursting at the seams!
Help me, i’m a hoarder!
Would love this! 🙂
What a fantastic idea. So inspiring!
We have so much junk! The next room we tackle is the oldest boys…
I am due with #2 in July and have been desperately trying to declutter my home… and my life before the new addition arrives. I definitely still have a way to go and any help would be appreciated!
We too paid off over $80K in debt in 2 years! This is an excellent idea and I definitely will purchase a book for pregnant friends from now on!
I totally get the minimalistic approach to baby gear. We got the call at 6pm that our son was born and we had to pick him up the next day. I think the only piece that I bought and never used that night was the pee pee tee pee. We were strapped for cash after buying the essentials and paying his adoption bills and I hope to continue that approach with our second (that has been a surprise conception!). But could use it for other places around the house.
I definitely need this!!
Yes, yes, please, yes! 🙂
Eek! I need this. Like yesterday.
Oh boy, could my house use some de-cluttering!
We like the picture of the mom wondering where to put the baby. 😛
Sounds awesome! It is amazing how quickly they paid off so much debt!
With 3 kids, ages 4, 2 & 7 weeks we have too much stuff! I need help!
I liked everything but the wardrobe part…. Could she do everything, but my closet?? My dh would LOVE this. Anytime we go to a hotel he says that is how we should live. 🙁 scary, but I think true. We don’t NEED something on every flat surface.
Hi Amber and Rachel,
I am going to become a first-time godmother this June. The mom and dad would most benefit from your book. This will be their first child. They live in a crappy apartment, but unfortunately cannot afford to move out before their son is born. She is selling all of her jewelry to make ends meet. He works over 65 hours a week as a salaried manager.
Their small space is always suffering from lack of space and too much clutter. They can use all the help they can get. Please consider us for the grand prize. They do not have an ebook reader.
Thank you,
Yon Ju
I wish i would have read this when i was pregnant too! Way too much baby stuff (and just stuff in general). I’ve been working on clearing things out though since we moved into a smaller home and i have to say, it is NICE to only have what you need 🙂 I would love to read this book!
Its so true we don’t know what we need til after!
This book is a great idea, would love to read it.
Im always looking for ways to declutter and downsize! I would log to win this book!
Yes please! Thank you!
Would love to win this.
This is a book I would love to read!
Help!
I need this. I really do.
Ahhhh! Pick me please!! You have no idea how much I need that right now!
This sounds awesome. Once one of my friends randomly came over and cleaned out my car. She just saw I needed some help and did it. A few months later she moved to Galveston to go to medical school. We are still good friends, but she’s too far away to help with my clutter. Maybe a stranger can help if I win.
Well, if I don’t win the book, I’m probably going to have to buy it! Or maybe I will see if it’s available on my kindle, cause you know, less clutter:)
Um. Yes.
thinking my husband would like me to read this book! haha
With number 3 on the way, I need to be a minimalist mom. I was thinking built-ins would save a lot of space now I am thinking dumpster in the front yard may be what I really need. 🙂
I could really use some minimimalist-ness in my life. Please help me.
I need a good purge, but every time I try to toss some things I think “but what if I need it someday!” Nevermind that it has sat unused since I purchased it 5 years ago. And my darned memory that remembers who gave me everything means I have a hard time parting with stuff for sentimental reasons. In summary: HELP!
Love this!
Wow this is great! Thanks Minimalist Mom!
Yay, I want, no need, this book!
Oh boy, do I ever need this!
I could use help in this area mostly because I don’t have the money or space for all of the things I want for baby!
I wear a necklace that says “simplify” just to remind myself not to buy useless junk. Sometimes it works! I wear it religiously whenever I’m Christmas shopping. 🙂
sounds great!
Would love this!!!
Awesome! I need some help.
I’m moving and see this as the perfect opportunity to CHANGE! 🙂
Me Please!!!!!!!!
Ironic post for me. With just having our third child I’m so feeling “cluttered” in my life!
I would LOVE to win this one!!!
I need this!!
I desperately need to declutter for an impending drastic downsize: we’ll likely be halving our square footage while adding a new baby to the fam! Hope we win 🙂
My office needs some serious help
I need a guide to surviving birthdays, too! How do you tell that favorite uncle that the kids really don’t need that super large item that takes up so much space in our 900 square foot condo? 🙂
We’ve started this weekend with the garage, and it looks fabulous, but somehow there seems to be an awful lot of stuff in the house again!! Time to de-clutter completely and probably hire a skip!
Who couldn’t use this!
I do want to declarer right now. It seems I always am and it’s never done! I’d love to win the book or the session!
Um…wow. I could really use some butt-kicking! 🙂
I would love to see if this is a realistic opportunity for me and my family.
I’ve always been a pack rat, but since my son was born 3 months ago I’ve been wanting to get rid of EVERYTHING!
decluttering? that would be awesome.
If it’s not useful or beautiful, get rid of it!
OOOhhhhhhh….. me likes! ha ha ha Minimalism, here I come!
OMG. when i just tripped over piles of toys and books etc, i realised that I have sooo much stuff that my 2 kids dont use. I could definately use a big declutter!
Even if I don’t win I for see this on my soon to be read list!
I just finished a book called Slow is Beautiful which touches on some of the ideas set forth here. Very inspiring!
Ohhhh, I so want to get rid of all my ‘crappy’ stuff! Every time I think I did good by getting rid of stuff, I find/buy/inherit/grow/accumulate more stuff. :-\
Great idea!
Yes! I *so* need this!
This would be so awesome and helpful!
Oooh, not sure how the Clutter Coaching session would work over here in New Zealand, but I would love love love the book!! We live in a tiny house and for some reason my three kids just keep getting bigger!! Advise on de-cluttering would be a much better idea than moving!
I’d love this!
De clutter me!!!
Declutter me
pick me, me, me. the stuff is taking over my life. I need a coaching. I just can’t do it alone!!!!
Sounds fantastic! Would love it!
Possibly my godsend – it would be no surprise if the book’s inscription referred to someone like me (an unhappy hoarder) as its inspiration!
Sounds like an awesome book!
Hurray for purging!
Please, please, please! Love this and would totally help out right now!
WOW! I need this with a 3 year old and one on the way!
help me please!
This sounds like the perfect book for me!
Oh wow! I really need this!
It’s because of the what-ifs. But what-if I need it? I have a problem with that.
I have so much crap everywhere. Definitely in need of saving some money and reducing the clutter. Help! 🙂
This sounds so awesome. Congrats on the debt lowering. We could all use help in that arena.
I would love to read this book!
Having my first baby in 8 weeks, I want this 🙂
I could really use the help
oh please, please, please kick my butt into decluttering! come on grand prize!!
Sounds great!
Ooh — this giveaway is just what I need! Thanks MinimalistMom!
Love love love your guidance on leading a lifestyle of mnmlsm. I’m starting down the purging path and loving the results.
pick me pick me!!! we’re moving and was needing to declutter anyway.
I have too much clutter! I need help!
I totally get the concept (and love it), but am having trouble *doing* it, so I’d love to read her tips – hope you pick me for at least a book! (And I love your blog, Amber – first one I’ve ever bothered to read! It’s that great! 🙂 )
I think me need this!
my place is so cluttered – help me please!!!
pick me pick me!
I strive to be this way, but somehow get long along the way. HELP!!
I spent the day in the toy room and I’m still not done getting rid is the clutter!
We realized how important it was to pair down our possessions when we literally could not come home from the hospital because we had no where for our son to sleep. It was upsetting. We’ve tried over the years to really get through clutter, but some help would be amazing!
I find it so difficult to get rid of things, especially baby items and clothing. I need help!!
I think my husband would LOVE this book – he is very anti-clutter and I’d like to keep the kid clutter under control too!
sounds interesting. funny how we think we need so much before we have the baby and than when you have one you realize you really need so little.
I would love to read this book!!!
I definitely need help with decluttering. If I win, I’m starting with my kids toys!
I cannot even TELL you how helpful this would be for me AND my best friend. 🙂
Man, oh man, do I need this.
I need this book for my mom in law! Help!
Pick me! I need the help!! 🙂
This sounds so cool!
I could so use help de-cluttering!
Wow, I wish I had this while i was pregnant. We have so much stuff!
Yes. PLEASE.
We moved just before our babe was born, and I still have boxes to unpack. But sentiment tends to intrude – I’ve lived in 8 countries now and there are some things I can’t bear to part with, even though I am not using them. I like the idea of the book, but the thought of having even more stuff is a bit scary! It’s a Catch-22.
I totally have the need to declutter!
I really really need help! I would love to de-clutter and figure out ways to pay off our consumer debt!
Oh, boy! Do I need to declutter!! Can’t wait to get started!
Oh! Me me me me! I need this! my whole family needs this!
I’m aspiring minimalist; grateful to learn some of her ideas!
I purge my house every a couple times a year – but I still manage to accumulate more stuff!
This sounds fantastic. What I’d like to know is how to politely refuse gifts – this is gonna be my first baby and I know my family well – I won’t have to buy a thing. But how do I politely say no thank you?
(Also, I love your blog. It makes me happy. And it made me happy for at least 6 months before I got pregnant too – proof that your audience isn’t just limited to parents. You’re awesome!)
I have definitely accumulated clutter since having kids. The moment I even think about getting rid of a toy they haven’t played with in months, it suddenly becomes their most prized possession. Please help break this vicious cycle!
Oh man, I NEED that clutter coaching session! 🙂
Would love to win this! But if not, the blog will do – looks good so far. 🙂
We could definitely use some help in this area!
Less stuff = good!
This book sounds awesome. I thought our house was full before we dedicated an entire room and a good portion of living area to baby stuff!
Ooooh decluttering rocks, you’re right!!
This sounds like a book I would eat if I could digest paper 🙂 I am pregnant with my first and we are definitely downsizing and I am not working much at all. Everything now is for the baby and any tips would be ***soooooo awesome!!!***
Sweet! That would make a great baby shower gift!
Moving across country in a month; de-cluttering is a must!
I may not have a baby in its first year anymore, but I still deal with the superfluous stuff! I have found that it really needs to be a family effort, not just Mom’s role.
I keep thinking I’m going to clear stuff out but have no idea where to start – this would be perfect to get going!
Pick me! Pick me! We live in a 3 bedroom ranch with 2 kids, no basement or attic to store “stuff” and a chronic lack of shelves. I could severely use some help!
That’s why 50% of my baby’s stuff is either going to a garage sale or being re-gifted.
Great idea! I must be in trouble since I’m just starting to declutter now and my kids are 4 and 2…I have so much stuff multiplying at this point and I’m going crazy!
Wow could I use help decluttering. We are bursting at the seams with unnecessary crap.
I could definitely use her help!
I’m a minimalist, but having a baby has challenged that big time! My closets, drawers, and anywhere that things can hide “out of sight” havee slowly become cluttered… need this!!
I tend to, uh, hoard…
Declutter me! I mean, my house.
We have already started down a loose version of a minimalist lifestyle and it is great! We are expecting #4 this winter and i know nesting is going to make me crazy! Upkeep is SO hard!
Definitely need this!
What a great giveaway! You win something that helps you get rid of stuff, as opposed to accumulating more clutter. Love the fact that it is an e-book.
Sounds like what we need! Been thinking about downsizing but not sure where to start!!
OMG! What an awesome give away! I’m about to pop any day with baby #1 and could certainly use this great advice! Thanks!
This would be so helpful!
Pick me! I’d love to win!!! This book sounds great!
Oh wow….I grew up in a hoarding house and come from a line of hoarders. I have fought this battle every day of my adult life. I’m not a hoarder, but if I am not vigilant, it could happen. Just this week, I started to get overwhelmed at the clutter- it ebbs and flows and I have such a hard time getting it under control, long-term. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, because I could *really* use this.
I’m going to go clean out my closets right now! Well, maybe I’ll just wait and see if I win, first. 😉
it would be nice to be clutter-free!!
I could totally use help doing a purge.
I would LOVE a copy of this book!
I’d like to read this! Will def check out blog! When preggo w/ 2nd, had weird dreams of clearing through my clutter.
Sounds like it’s filled with great ideas.
I’m trying to simplify and organize and could definitely use some structured guidance.
This book sounds like just the instruction I need. I am so not a minimalist mum, but I’d love to learn!
We could really really use some help in simplifying our life!
please. i need to minimized. or else i’ll end up on tlc’s ‘buried alive’
enter me please!
I fear I am slowly becoming that hoarding lady…
I’d looove to win – thanks for the Crappy giveaway!
this would be highly beneficial! if i don’t win, i think i will be purchasing a copy of this book!
This is one book that I’d love to hoard!
Help! I just had baby #3 and can you believe I received 8 blankets – for the third baby!!! That is just the tip of the iceberg….
We could definitely use this!
sounds like something I could use! Also, if she could just come over and declutter for me, that’d be great.
I really need this. I think the junk in my house is trying to eat me.
Sounds like a great book. (To add to my collection…. see… I need the help!)
Count me IN!
A guide to getting rid of all the crap I don’t need? Yes please!!
OMG I need this, my husband is a little bit of a hoarder and after his parents died, I have ended up with half of their stuff in my house as well! Help!!
I need this help so bad!! Hope I win 🙂
Yes please! I NEED this and it sounds awesome.
Very cOol! My stuff is oppressing me!
SO trying to pay off debt so we can go to Europe next summer with hubby (he has to go for work). I need some baby steps and some butt kicking.
Could really use this!!! Please pick me!!
Declutter me please!
Sounds like a great read!
Wow! This sounds like exactly what I need!
I have the clutter bug as well as loads of good intentions and 2 young children that I homeschool. Some uncluttered sanity would be a treat.
Yes, please! I so want to embrace a minimalist lifestyle!
Oh my, I could use this, even though my babies are big now. I’m living with a much-reduced budget and I could use some hand-holding.
This sounds like a book I need! I was just thinking today that the third (!) stroller we bought has worked out to a waste of $. Time for simplifying.
What fun this would be!
This is exactly what I need! I’m so excited about this giveaway!
We are moving soon. I NEED this book!
No more clutter please!
I really would LOVE to have this.
Pick me, please! This would be a wonderful 40th birthday gift to me (a random Crappy Pictures blog follower who you have never met).
Crossing my fingers!
We just found out that my husband and I are expecting another child and I was looking at this book when it was last mentioned on this site. We ended up with a lot of stuff we never used from our first child, so this hits close to home. Win or not, I think this is great!
well, it’s worth a shot. I homeschool my four children and I haven’t ruled out the possibility of another kid (hence the baby stuff kept in the garage). The doctors would “kill” me if I got pregnant again but who can resist those little faces? Additionally, we keep strictly kosher, by Jewish Orthodox standards. This means twice the amount of dishes, pots, pans, plates, silverware. Then there’s Passover, which is twice the amount again. Nonetheless, I try to reduce the amount of things we accumulate and regularly visit our local woman’s shelter to donate lots of stuff I feel we can live without. Still, I’m drowning. Is it possible? Maybe 🙂
amazing idea. I couldn’t agree with her more. I have two kids in a 2 bedroom condo and would love to pair down more.
The book sounds like an awesome read!
I feel myself becoming a minimalist just from reading the post. Now to complete the transformation…I need to win the book! 🙂
This is so important yet difficult as a new mom!
This sounds awesome! Pick me!!
I could definitely use this!
I could really use help with decluttering.
I really, really, really want this book! I actually just heard about it yesterday via some other blog and was super intrigued! Now I read about it over here.. maybe it’s a sign.. DECLUTTER!
we took a carload to Goodwill today– the house feels lighter!
Yes please. 🙂 Tiny house, 3 kids, 4th on the way. I SO need this!!
I love to de-clutter, but I need help with what I “need” and what I really need. thanks for having sponsors that do give-aways.
Alice
Decluttering! Yay!
oh I so need help in this area!
Wow, this woman sounds amazing and so determined. I would LOVE to read her book and get some decluttering help from her!
Oh my gosh!!!! Declutter my house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please?!?!?! 🙂
Way too much stuff over here, especially kids clothes. I really need to get rid of some things!
Decluttering and organizing is what I NEED!!! Yay for minimalism.
I just became a Stay At Home Mom, and this book would SAVE me! I REALLY hope that I win it!
How nice would that be to have empty cupboards! thxs
When you said “junk drawer” I got all sweaty. Could it really be cleaned out?
Lol, right? For me, it’s more like junk closets. 😉
I’m so excited about this giveaway! My husband & I were just talking about wanting to live more minimalistic. I’ve been going through the house, decluttering, for the past week. It’s so hard to live simply when everyone else is “Keeping up with the Jones'” & you feel pressure to do the same. The book sounds awesome and we could use all the help we can get!
We need to declutter! #2 is on her way and I am faced with “is this the last baby, or should I hang onto this baby item for x years until my uterus officially gives out?”
LOVE the “crappy” picture. Lol! I’d love some decluttering help. I am fighting the packrat genes. It’s a bit of a battle, but boy, do I NOT want to end up on hoarders. 😉
I could really use decluttering help!! I only have one child, but my house is always a wreck. This is a great giveaway!
Sounds like a good book!
saying very little
Oh my! I would love help decluttering my house! I hate clutter, but I can’t seem to find a way to organize everything.
I soooo need this. Yesterday I offered a friend cases of m&m’s to come help me. Lol but she lives far away.
Please, Minimalist Mom, come and rescue my home office!
Oh man with only 590 sq feet and a three year old and her four legged brother I would LOVE to win the grand prize 🙂
My youngest is almost one, but my attic is overflowing with five years of kids’ clothes that I keep meaning to eBay. And that’s not even counting what I’ve already managed to lug down to our “eBay room” where it continues to sit indefinitely. Definitely could use this!
This sounds soooo useful for the current and future
Expecting any day now…show me the way.
I could SO use this! We are having to combine our guest room and my craft room (which has become a junk room) to make room for another nursery!
sounds great!
I’m scared of my kids’ closet. This sounds awesome!
Could use some tips on decluttering!
I could definitely use some help decluttering!
We have so much baby stuff…
Oh goodness. Yes please. Losing the battle to keep a safe path from the light to the doorway in the living room. Yikes!
I need to read this book. I’ll pass it on when I’m done…
I’m a mother of 2 1/2 yr old twins living in an 800 sqft apartment, nuff said!
i really need a de-cluttering session…or should I say my craft obsession building (yes, it’s taken over most of a small building) needs decluttering. lol
Please, please, pretty please!!!
I’m still living out of boxes and I moved here over 6 months ago…with an 8 month old, I just can’t find the time or motivation to get organized.
I have long been a follower of her writings (even to the point of rereading the archives from the beginning). To be in the running for her book is good enough reason to comment.
Can wait to read the book
I need this. Because as so not a minimalist its another thing I need! (though really I do)
what a great book. This is what I keep telling all my friends who are having their first.
Ugh, yes, please. I’m a procrastinating packrat who would love to get rid of some clutter!!!
Great idea!
pick me!!!
PICK ME PICK ME RANDOM COMPUTER THING!!!
Pick me please!!! 🙂
I love clearing space but hate getting rid of stuff.
Awesome idea, who couldn’t use this? 🙂
Oh please me! I need this sooooo bad!
Enter me please. My wife needs this. Don’t tell her I said that.
I could definitely use this!
Wow! I could really use her help. Clutter follows me wherever I go.
My husband would be your new biggest fan if I won this!! Thanks!
Boy do I need help declutering my life!
I want to win!
This article got me so excited, I peed a little. But at 7 mo pregnant, what doesn’t make me pee? Just kidding…..
This giveaway is the answer to my prayers! I recently decided to stay home with my two under five daughters, and I need serious help!
This is such a great giveaway!
Sooooooo need this!
Please purdy please pick me..I need help..:))
Oh man my closets are a hot mess right now!
what a great concept and something I’ve been thinking about for a while but can’t get off my butt to start yet! Would love to get some extra motivation!
I could really use this! Majorly downsizing our living space with 2 littles and tons of junk!
How did I end up with all this kid stuff and why does it keep multiplying? Help me please!!!
Who doesn’t want this prize ….
Need this!!!
Hi, could i have a miracle too please? Thanks.
Can totally relate to piled up baby stuff in closet!
Wow do I need this…
Cool! I learned so much about what is actually useful to have around after my kid was born. Too bad I can’t tell past me.
Oh yes please! I am very attached to my stuff. What can I do; I only GET stuff that I like, so if I like it why should I let go of it? Yknow? Sigh.
But hey, maybe we WILL have another baby girl and give those yummy little pink onesies another spin, eh?
I am so tired of our clutter but I don’t know how/where to start!
Me please! 🙂
Sounds awesome!
As I lift my eyes to the clutter that is my house, I realise how much I want (need?!) to win this prize!
I’m new to your site and really enjoy it! Excited to learn more!
Sounds good
Dear goodness, do i need this or what! yes please.
Haha, it’s funny to see all those “pick me”s!
I need it too though (who doesn’t? Seriously, do super-organized people actually exist?)
I’m totally in denial but so need this!
Been following Rachel for a while…like her no nonsense approach and would love her to kick my butt to put some of her strategies into action! Thanks for the chance!
Declutter!? Yes please! Would love to get this book to help me out 🙂
Is it too late to benefit if my oldest is 13? So desperately need to!
I have 4 boys between 2 and 8 and man oh man I have no idea how we ended up with so much kiddy crap!!!
Wow! She sounds amazing. I’d love some of her wisdom.
I am successfully working my way through closets and boxes, but sentimental crap is my kryptonite. I need HELP. Hubby is being patient and trying to help. I broke down in tears this weekend when he threw away HIS yearbooks – guess I feel like the pressure is on now. I want an objective, outside viewpoint to help me over this last big hurdle.
Pick me!!! After moving 13 times in less than 10 years we have a LOT of stuff that we’ve picked up along the way. I want our next move to be much much lighter – HELP!
I love the idea of being minimalist…. but I always end up with more stuff somehow!
Oh! Pick me! I NEED this!!
I so need this book!
Decluttering would be soooo good. And I completely agree about all the baby stuff that you “need” and never, ever use. Baby towels are my personal pet peeve – thin, useless little things lol!
This book looks like just the thing I could have used with baby #1!
totally sounds like my kind of thing!
This would be SO helpful to me…I am expecting baby #3 in the fall, and would really like to be home full-time with my kids. I definitely need help organizing, decluttering and “letting go” of all the stuff I think I really need, but really, REALLY don’t!!
This would be great!
Love The Minimalist Mom, and could totally use some hand-holding on that upstairs walk-in closet (not to mention the basement storage shelves). 🙂
I want to read it!
I need help decluttering!
The minimalist mom is awesome! I would love to have some personal push to get this stuff out of my house!! Thanks for the chance to win.
I want one!
I think it’s the perfectionist in me that stops me from getting started on the simplest of tasks… and then the place is burried in what would have been simple to-do’s but have turned into gieant feats once the merge and multiply :/ I hope I win, this would be amazing!!!
I need help decluttering especially on our old house with no storage!
Pick me! I’m the most pathetic.
I don’t need a copy of this book but wanted to comment anyway. The Minimalist Mom and Crappy Pictures are the two parenting blogs that I check everyday. I love that they are together at last!
I have read the book and it makes so much sense…I just wish I could find the time to put it into practice!
Oh, I’ve worked so hard to declutter but I could still use some help! I would love a copy of the book to gift to a friend who is expecting too!
This is very timely as we are overflowing at the seams. Could really use a swift kick to get rid of all the excess!

Could definitely use this!
Rachel’s book was wonderful and awesome and so very helpful! We have a small home and I wanted to make sure we didn’t buy unnecessary ‘crap’! I read her blog weekly! Good info! Winning the Clutter Coach would get me over the hump I’ve reached on my way to minimalism!
I wish I had this book before I had kids!
I would love this!
Love this
I so need this book!
De-clutter me! Pick me please!
Trying so hard to downsize and get rid of stuff, but I swear that if I leave 2 things alone they multiply when my back is turned. Could really use this.
PLEASE pick me. This defines my basement. I need all the help I can get ;0
Please random computer picker… pick me! We could definitely put this guide to good use.
I hope I get picked!
Clutter is the result of my procrastination and I struggle with it daily. It is a trait learned from my family and a trait I hope I don’t pass on to my daughter.
The coaching would be a great asset for our decluttering “project”. But I’d be thrilled with just a copy of the book too, since we are pregnant with our 2nd child and have almost nothing left from our first, because we didn’t expect to have more than one child after he was born. So we are having to restock and I’d like to be a little wiser in my choices this time around 🙂
I pretty minimal, but LOVE support and new ideas. WOULD Love to get in on this one. Thanks for offering the giveaway!
This is so awesome! I plan on going on a major purge/declutter mission on our house this summer.
I found the Minimalist Mom blog via an article in the Globe and Mail newspaper. With all the books I’ve read in my reaching out for help to declutter – she in the only one to come across as logical, calm, and without preaching. What a blessing!
It’s not just “declutter” – but exploring why, how, and the mindset to truly not want to be like that again. An ongoing process! Still I need HELP!
Thank you for the chance and the opportunity!
Cheers!
Plz pick me!!!
A lifestyle every American should attempt. Compared to the rest of the world, we are huge over consumers.
I would love to read this book for free!
I had to move 50 objects on my kitchen counter to get to my laptop to read this article. Please save me. I mean, pick me.
love it!
I desperately need help decluttering in preparation for baby #2.
I’m intrigued. Pick me!

Awesome giveaway!
sounds useful!
Sounds like a good idea.
I need to de-clutter!
Please pick ME!!!! I’m pregnant with my 1st and would love to have this book before I go and waste money on stuff that I don’t actually need and to help me once the baby is here.

This is a great give-away! Hope I win!
Please pick me, I keep wanting to declutter, but with a 14 month old and a full time job, I can’t make myself do it!
I NEED this! I live in a condo with baby #1, and am hoping for baby #2. I am overwhelmed with crappy crap! And underwhelmed with money and time. I love parenting, but not the objectst that come along with it.
Unorganized slob with two 3 year olds and a 8 month old would loooove this!
Rachel has been a great help to me on my declutting journey so far but there is always more to do!
My closets and I need this prize SO bad!
The one good thing about moving – we at least got a good start on that! There’s always more to do though.

My closets are crying, too…in hopes of being picked!
Come on random number picker thingy. You know you want to pick me!

My office could use some serious help!
I could really use this!
I need this one so bad… we have like 3 different ‘nap solutions’ – all of which she’s grown out of… Not to mention all the nursing clothes which are just not as good as a dang tank top under ANYTHING. I need like 50 Goodwill purges.
I have clutter. Please help
Oh how I would love to win the Clutter Coaching!!! I have recently reignited my desire to parent (I have a three year old and have let it get away from me) with less and purchased “Simplicity Parenting” By Kim John Payne & Lisa M. Ross because I definitely needed the inspiration to get rid of all the excess that bogs us down.
Please pick me. I live in a one bedroom apartment with my husband, son, two dogs, and a lot of stuff. I need help!
Awesome!
This would be SO helpful!
Seriously… need this, now. Please!
I could certainly use her advice!
I love Minimalist Mom!
It is so wonderful that so many people follow you and are keen for you to move into the next phase of kicking butt! I would love to connect!

oooh I am sitting here staring at our office closet that just seems to keep getting worse and worse…
This sounds just like me…wanting to dec litter & realizing half my stuff is unnecessary! I do have a sudden urge to purge!
I soooooo need some help getting clutter free!
i’m a planner to a fault. hearing how “expensive” kids were, we budgeted for this expected cost.
naw. simple reductions, probably similiar in nature to what rachel is suggesting, allowed us to save over $100,000 over 6 years (three infants).
Holy cow! Good for you. That’s the will power and direct approach most people should aim for.
Amazing. The book, yeah, totally could have used that. I too have too much baby gear crap.
And the house declutter? I need a coach. I tried the 101 home storage 52 week challenge. Failed on week 3. Week THREE! I need help!
I am in a huge decluttering phase but I need help. We have had 3 little girls in 3.5 years so you can imagine how much kid stuff has built up…plus paperwork to be filed and our closet has just gotten out of control.
I really need a hand…clutter free

I always love how I feel after I’ve done a sweep of my house to get rid of unused items… it’s empowering! So why is it so hard to do sometimes?! It’s like working out – I’ll drag my feet & procrastinate doing it but feel GREAT afterwards. 🙂
Great Idea!
OMG do I need this book!!!
Oh, my, do I ever need this!
I love this blog!! It was my life not too long ago.
I seriously need to read this book. My daughter is 6 and I just found one of her baby shoes in my clutter box in the kitchen!
I hoard silly things. I need to declutter.
My OCD ends when the work whistle blows. Now clutter has taken over at our home. To the point where I don’t know where to begin. I often think about how much “easier” things would be. This would be a wonderful start!
We are beginning to get my body ready for our first baby (who knew it takes time and effort!) I’d LOVE this book!
I could use this!

I could so totally use this!
Yes please! Bought my house when I was single. Got married, had three kids. House is feeling small, but DH & I are convinced we can stay in it and pay it off instead of moving to something bigger. Just have to get rid of so much stuff!

I have been following the mInimalist mom for a long time and she led me to your site. You’re both so inspiring. I don’t feel like a fish out of water when I read you guys (well, most of the time). Seriously, you’re my “reset button” when I get off track. Thank you!

Pick me, please!!
I’m actually going to buy a copy 😛 Love that it’s an e-book, but I really wish I could give a few copies to all the moms-to-be and moms of small ones I know!
I should also say that we were fortunate in that 90% of the stuff that we owned for our baby was given to us by friends and family… and as our little guy is outgrowing them, they’re going on to new families 🙂 But I need some serious help on getting rid of MY clutter, so I look forward to reading this!
Please pick me!!
I would love to have this book!
Would love to win a session with Rachel! Been a long-term follower of her blog…and glad to have found yours!
WOW! I say pretty much the same exact thing when someone compliments me on a purse, sunglasses, clothes, etc… “I got it for __% off!”. I pretty much never buy stuff for full price, so therefore I have too much of everything. I’m not a hoarder, just have clutter… My mom gets on me all the time when she comes over to visit. My problem is that I de-clutter and put away everything, but a week later it’s the same way again. Would love/ could really use the help!
Oh, oh, oh please let the gods pick me.
Just reading this post makes me want to go home and throw a bunch of stuff away right now! Thanks!

Whoa. My alterego, Super Packrat, surely could use this.
We could really use her advice down here in NZ (Long time lurker, first time commenter – love your work Amber – the longer I am a mum, the more it rings true – it’s good to be able to laugh at myself, coz otherwise sometimes I’d just cry).

I sooooo need this book. What about saving your first child’s clothes? There is virtually no organized way of doing this.
Yes, please! My nesting urge has finally kicked in now that my baby is 6 weeks old. 🙂
I’m moving and feel incredibly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff we have. I’m piling up stuff to get rid of but still there seems to be so much STUFF! Please help me declutter and have a home where closets are roomy and my house is not always in a state of chaos!
it’s both scary and exciting to think about downsizing! but for sure I would appreciate the tips about paying off debt. as a single working mom with only one salary, it’s hard to pay off bills right now…
What a great idea! Totally something I could use!
is the book helpful when you have an 11 month old? or maybe i should read it now in preparation for number two in a few years. 😛
