Thank you! Please pass the virtual chocolate.

Just a quick note today to say THANK YOU!

Remember when I kept bugging you to vote for this blog for that Parents Blog Awards thing? And you guys were super nice and voted?

Turns out, we WON!

Funniest Mom Blog: Readers' Choice

As a small token of my gratitude, I drew you my classic celebratory trio: Champagne, ice cream & chocolate.

Icecreams
Enjoy! I'm enjoying it virtually too. I don't actually have any of these things in my house, and since I'm still riding the health train I won't be having them. So we'll just pretend. You know, to keep my glamorous image alive.

Anyway, I'm in awe over this, that a blog less than six months old could pull this off. Thank you again! You guys are the best. And I mean that. And not because of this contest either. But because of all the hilarious comments that make me laugh, well wishes, overflow of support and just general awesomeness that this blog has become thanks to the community of parents who hang out here. Thank you!

I'll be back tomorrow with a new post. Unless I eat too much virtual chocolate.

Most deserved! Congrats! And thank you for providing comic relief for my husband and me. We both love your blog!!

  52. brigit says:

you deserve it. your blog is amazing for many reasons. the funny most of all, but also that it’s a “mommy blog” (barf) that doesn’t leave us feeling like shit because it presents parenthood in glossy, posed pictures and performance art. you are humble and self deprecating and don’t present yourself as some sort of magical mother who spends all day crafting and knitting with the wool of organic alpaca that was sheared under the full moon and blessed by felted gnomes so that your children, Sage Brush Moonbeam and Bratleigh can be extra sparkly. it’s really, really rare that i read a parenting blog that doesn’t make me feel like the worst mom ever. i have two boys the same age as yours, so i especially enjoy it. anyway. congrats!

  53. Stacy Seman says:

I voted for you and told all my friends to as well. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have not human children (only a naughty bunny), but I find a great sense of “OMG. I would totally do that. LOL” (and immediately post it on FB). Especially the spider incident! I hope you are kicking mono back (been there, done that) and getting some much needed rest. CONGRATS!!!

  54. Najwa Power says:

    Congrats!

  81. ems says:

  86. bcIMthemommy says:

    That’s fantastic! Way to go!

I’m so effing jealous I could just eat all of your digital chocolate and ice cream, then drink all of your bubbly and drunk dial you just to scream obscenities at you. (I would then feel really bad that I’d done that and call you back blubbering about how sorry I was.)

Really that’s awesome! You so deserve it.

  87. Staci Phillips says:

I love reading your blog because it is exactly that same thing I’m thinking and feeling with my kids (4 & 11 mos)…it’s nice to share in the experiences with another woman who can relate on the same level and laugh at themselves and their experiences ๐Ÿ™‚

Right on! I’m glad to see that truth and justice still prevails! Hope you’re feeling better and that you are keeping the virus to yourself.
PS- I wish you could come over here and write about my 9 mo daughter weaning abruptly. Apparently nursing is now disgusting and she wouldn’t be caught dead doing it leaving me feeling pathetically sad. I keep asking myself how this would be depicted in Crappy Pics.

  110. DodgyMama says:

    Yippee!! Well done!
Seeing that you are wise and working on recovery and cannot partake in the celebratory consumption, bugger the virtual! I will toast your gigglesome awesomeness tonight with some real bubbly ๐Ÿ™‚ I will skip the other two perils however, else Small and Smaller will beat each other to death over them.

  111. Karen Z says:

  141. Lori says:

Your blog makes me laugh, and then turn all paranoid, looking over my shoulder to see if someone is watching me with my boys and drawing crappy pictures of our awkward childhood/parenting moments!

  142. Marguerite says:

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied
on the video to make your point. You definitely know what youre talking about,
why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your
weblog when you could be giving us something enlightening to
    read?
