The October Collaboration Series finished up today. It was an interesting experiment and I’m ever so thankful for all the writers who were willing to let me illustrate their stories.
But now the carriage turns back into a pumpkin and ya’ll are stuck with just me again.
Since there were so many questions about the guest post from DDW, yes it has been removed. We both decided to delete it, it wasn’t just me being a big meanie taking it down. Regardless of the content and reaction, it was a mistake to publish a guest post here with someone else’s illustrations in the first place. I’m not going to do that again.
You know what though? Despite it being a poor fit for the voice of this blog, I actually loved reading the discussion that it sparked. Loved it. But because it was a discussion about someone else’s words (not mine) there wasn’t a place for me in the discussion. As a host, I couldn’t take sides. And that felt weird. And wrong. Plus, this is a humor blog attempting (at least in part) to connect on the common road of this parenting journey. Not a place for head-on collisions. (Well, unless it is sparked by something I write, which would have been a different scenario, one that would have been welcome here.) So it had to go. Feel free to contact me if you have burning questions or want to send me links to photos of baby wombats. Or hate mail. Whatever. Feel free.
And now that the serious business is over, here is a picture of some gifts to thank you for being here:
Wine, chocolate, flowers, ice cream, red boots and a hot tub. (Wait. Actually, the red boots are for me, still waiting for the UPS man to show up with them. And flowers are kinda lame. And there really isn’t much for the guys here. Crappy Papa suggested adding bacon or something. No time. Sigh. I tried. It is the thought that counts, right?)
